On December 5th and 6th, we hosted a conference on “Open Problems in Mathematical Epidemiology” at the University of British Columbia. The key objective of this conference was to promote the summarization of past achievements in mathematical epidemiology, and outline directions and challenges for younger researchers working in the convergence of academic research and applied mathematics for public health.
